Serial Number Screen

If you have setup an item to track serial numbers (see Adding Inventory), you will automatically be prompted to enter them onto an invoice whenever an item is sold.  Serial numbers may be entered in advance (when you are receiving) or they may be typed or scanned in at the point of sale.

If you track serial numbers from the time they are received until they are sold you can maintain a great deal of detail on the item such as the date you received it, your PO number, the vendor you bought it from and their invoice number, the price you paid for it, the date you sold it, who it was sold to, the invoice number it was sold on, etc. Tracking serial numbers in this manner can greatly assist you with tracking and managing any warranty service and/or returns.
