Forms Printers

Allows you to control the font used for printing reports. If you are on a dot matrix printer, set Letter Quality to N to speed up the printing process. If you are using a laser or ink jet, set Letter Quality to Y to ensure a clear, dark printout.

If you are on Windows 98 or earlier, set the font to Courier; if you are on Windows XP, set it to Terminal.

If using the Windows print system, the H and V allow you to control the horizontal and vertical starting position for your forms. This allows you to adjust how the form centers for your particular printer. Values are entered in pixels; approximately 20 pixels equals 1 space.

If you have set this form to printer 0 (Windows printer), you may optionally set a default printer where you want the form to print. Click on the to call up a listing of all available Windows printers and select the one you want.

Each workstation must decide where each form type will print. Simply type the number of the printer next to each form type. To print through your Windows print system, type a 0.

This area is reserved for direct to port printers. You may set up 8 different printers to be used for printing forms. These printers are shared by all users on your network. Click on the to access a grid selection of available printers. Select your printer from the list. You then need to enter the port the printer is attached to. This does not have to be a port physically on your computer; it may be a port captured by Windows.

Select or click Ok to exit and save, or Cancel to exit without saving.

Select System Utilities Setup Printers from the Main Menu. You will then see the forms printers setup screen.

From here, you can setup printers for your various forms. Forms are defined as invoices, purchase orders, quotes, etc. Forms may be printed direct to port or through the Windows print system. (If you are using a USB printer, you must use the Windows print system.) Click on or [Tab] to the field you wish to set and type in your desired setting. Continue setting your options in this manner. Select Ok when done to save your changes; or Cancel to abort and lose your changes.

You must EXIT the system in order for any setup changes to take effect. Additionally, if you are on a network and change shared settings, the other users will not get those settings until they exit the system as well.
