Promotions Screen

Available from many places including Customer, Inventory, Employee and Vendor, Toolbars appear at the bottom of the screen and provide access to a variety of functions.  To activate a function, click on the desired item. Alternatively, to use your keyboard, you may press [Alt]+Letter, or simply the underlined letter by itself. The exception to this is the Save button. You may not press the S by itself; instead, you may use [PgDn].

The UPC code for the item.  This will automatically fill in with what is on the main product screen and should NOT be changed unless you are setting up an item with multiple UPCs or you are setting up a single can, 6 pack, case scenario.

Closes the screen you are on.

Unflags a record previously marked for deletion.  (The button is only active on a record currently marked for deletion.)

Flags the current record for deletion.

Saves a newly added or edited record.  (The button is only active when you are adding or editing records.)  You can also press [PgDn] to save any record.

Adds a new record.

Edit the record on screen.

Calls up a grid view.

Calls up a search box used to locate records.

Takes you to the next record.

Takes you to the previous record.

This field will be set differently depending on the type of promotion you are setting up.  To simply put an item on sale, you would leave the Qty at 1.  To setup reduced pricing for quantity purchases, you will enter the number that needs to be purchased in order to receive the lower price.  If converting eaches to cases, this would be set to the number that must be purchased in order for the case pricing to be used.

For most promotions, units will be set to 1 (the default).  The only time this field will have a value other than 1 is if you are setting up cases that have different UPCs from their individual selling units.

This setting controls whether you will set the promotional prices by the individual selling unit, or in a group.  For most situations, this field will be set to N; however, if you are converting eaches to cases or setting up a 6 pack, you would set this to Y.  If setting up Nfer pricing (3 for $1.00), you would set group to F.

Enter promotional prices for any or all of the 5 price levels.  If a customer qualifies for the promotional pricing, the price for the level that matches what is on their customer screen is what will be used.  If Group is set to N, you will enter prices as individual selling units; if Group is set to Y, then you will enter prices for the entire group.

The start and end dates allow you to set promotional pricing for a specified time period.  The pricing will take effect on the start date and will end one day after the end date.  You may add start and end dates to any type of promotional pricing; however, they are most used to put particular items on sale.  (Because you enter both the start and end dates, you can setup your sale pricing well in advance of the sale as the prices will not be used until your start date.  Also, you don't have to delete old sales prices as they will automatically end the day after your end date.)

Allows you to tie promotional pricing to a SINGLE customer ID.  If an ID is entered, than only sales to that particular customer would receive the promotional pricing setup.

The selling unit of measure.  When adding promotions, this will default to what is on the main product screen; however, it may be changed for specific promotions if necessary.  If the promotional pricing is used, the UOM entered here is what will print on your invoices.  This is most useful when converting eaches to cases or when dealing with single can/6 pack/case scenarios.

The description of the item.  When adding new promotions, this will automatically fill in based on what is on the main product screen; however, it may be changed for any specific promotion.  If the promotional pricing is used, the description on this screen is what will print on your invoices.

A unique identifying number for a specific promotion.  This number is automatically assigned by the program and cannot be changed.

The product ID for the item you are on.  This cannot be changed when adding or editing promotions.
