Sales Tax Setup

Select or click Ok to exit and save, or Cancel to exit without saving.

Enter the percentage for this sales tax level. Enter the tax as follows: a 7% sales tax would be entered as .07000; a 6 3/4% tax would be entered at .06750. You may have levels with .00000 tax.

A descriptive name for this sales tax which will print on your invoices.

Most U.S. users will want to set this to C for Customer. When set this way, items in inventory are set as either taxable or non-taxable; the rate level is assigned to each customer based on their location.

Most Canadian users will want to set this to I for Inventory. When set this way, items in inventory are assigned the rate level based on the type of item it is; customers are then set as either taxable or non-taxable.

Note: There may be instances where US users will want to tax by inventory and vice versa. If in doubt how you should set this, please contact technical support.

Select System Utilities Setup Invoices Sales Tax from the Main Menu. You will then see the sales tax setup screen.

Click on or [Tab] to the field you wish to set and type in your desired setting. Continue setting your options in this manner. Select Ok when done to save your changes; or Cancel to abort and lose your changes.

You must EXIT the system in order for any setup changes to take effect. Additionally, if you are on a network and change shared settings, the other users will not get those settings until they exit the system as well.
