Customer Returns
There are a couple of ways of handling returns, depending on your
type of business. If your business processes returns with the customer and
merchandise present, the most efficient method is a negative
invoice. If however, returns are a two-step process for your company, i.e.,
you issue a return authorization number, the customer then ships the goods back to
you and on receipt, you process the return, then you will want to use customer
RMAs.
